Prince Berenger

Product & System Designer

I’m Berenger, a product & system designer at Bujeti (YC W23), based in Paris. I build design systems that bridge design and development, helping teams ship faster and products stay consistent as they scale.

Born and raised in Cotonou, I moved to Paris to study, and later spent time in Taipei, which changed me more than I expected. Along the way, I worked in project management and digital marketing, and that mix still shapes how I design today. When I’m not pushing pixels, I’m planning my next trip.

Experience

  • Recent

    Design System designer, under NDA

A design system at enterprise scale. Happy to walk you through it on a call.

  • 2022–now

Product & System Designer at Bujeti

Spend management for African businesses. I design the product and the Figma variables system under it, which halved designer onboarding. I also built bujeti.com in Framer.

  • 2021–2023

    UX/UI Designer at Free

Redesigned the ticketing back office behind Free Proxi’s 100 local hubs, then started the team’s first design system, set to cut dev time on new views by about 30%.

  • 2020–2021

UX/UI Designer at Nexity Startup Studio

Innovation projects, and a shared UI kit so each new startup in the studio began from tested components, not a blank file.

Selected work

A cards table: each card with its holder, source, a spend bar and its status, with pagination.
Category labels in soft colors: sales, refund, software, taxes, logistics, marketing, insurance, payroll, supplies.
Mobile onboarding in French: verified identities, secure payments and full transparency, then create an account.
Payroll setup in four steps: salary components, statutory components, employees, then the first payroll run.
Mobile transfer: entering 500 dollars on a keypad, from one account to another.
Invoice details: paid status, payments received and the breakdown, with a menu to remind, copy the link or download.
Landing page for an assistant that lives in WhatsApp: “Your daily chaos, finally handled”, with an early access form.

Shelf · Things that stayed with me

I’m drawn to stories with depth, the kind I recognise myself in. These met me at the right moment.

BeefSeries · 2023 . Created by Lee Sung Jin. Why it stayed: I watched it at one of the lowest points of my life. Two strangers dragging each other down, episode after episode, then an ending that finally let me breathe. The BearSeries · 2022 . Created by Christopher Storer. Why it stayed: Every service feels one second from blowing up. The writing runs deep, the images are beautiful, and I’ve followed Jeremy Allen White since Shameless. Ayo Edebiri matches him scene for scene. The PittSeries · 2025 . Created by R. Scott Gemmill. Why it stayed: It arrived when I needed it most. Beyond the rush of the ER, it showed me a calmer way to face death, and left me with words I still carry: I love you, thank you, I forgive you, please forgive me. Little AmericaSeries · 2020 . Created by Lee Eisenberg, Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani. Why it stayed: Short stories of immigrants building a life in America. I’m an immigrant too, here in France, so each one feels a little like mine. Ted LassoSeries · 2020 . Created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence. Why it stayed: A man leaves everything behind to coach a sport he doesn’t know, and wins people over with kindness. I started it while I was starting over too. Perfect DaysFilm · 2023 . Directed by Wim Wenders. Why it stayed: A quiet life in Tokyo: books, a bike, a bowl of ramen. I’ve always been drawn to Japan, and this film is a gem. To me, this is what life should feel like. Red Dead Redemption 2Game · 2018 . Developed by Rockstar Games. Why it stayed: To me, the best game ever made. The dialogue, the light, the western world, every detail polished. I lose hours to side quests, and years later I still find things I’d missed. Nothing You Don’t Already KnowBook · 2019 . Written by Alexander den Heijer. Why it stayed: The title says it all: things I know, but need to hear again. I keep it close, open a page at random and carry it with me through the day. Les quatre accords toltèquesBook · 1997 . Written by Don Miguel Ruiz. Why it stayed: Four simple agreements I try to live by. Harder than they sound, which is why I keep coming back to them. Dear young designerArticle · 2021 . Written by Tobias van Schneider. Why it stayed: I read it as I was starting out as a designer, and it was exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve admired his work ever since. Dear young designer, Part IIArticle · 2025 . Written by Tobias van Schneider. Why it stayed: The follow-up, years later. Just as honest, and a good reminder that you don’t need to become a grifter to do well. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ckBook · 2016 . Written by Mark Manson. Why it stayed: Don’t let the title fool you. It isn’t about not caring, it’s about choosing what’s worth caring about.

Personal

Away from the screen, there’s always a song on repeat and a camera in my pocket. New places, new things to try, first times worth keeping.
